This recording marks the first appearance of the Berlin Philharmonic Wind
Ensemble on EMI Classics.
Through constant interaction within the BPO the ensemble has developed a
unified sense of articulation, rhythm, intonation and phrasing that comes
naturally.
Having worked with Harnoncourt, Herreweghe, Gardiner and Hogwood they bring an understanding of period instruments to their interpretation on modern
instruments.
The invention of melody and harmony and the exploration of instrumental
combinations and tonal contrast are formidable in these two Mozart
mini-masterpieces.
