With the upcoming celebration of Mozart’s 250th birthday, Virgin Classics reunites on disc the legendary genius with his father, composer Leopold Mozart. Wolfgang Amadeus’ concertos for horn, clarinet and oboe belong to his most popular repertoire. Leopold Mozart’s repertoire is less known, and rarely performed, but has been recorded on EMI Classics by Maurice André.

John Nelson and the Ensemble Orchestral de Paris accompany three exceptional French talents considered amongst the best wind instrumentalists of their generation: François Leleux at the oboe, Paul Meyer, known to Virgin Classics in the Carnaval des animaux recording with the Capuçons, and David Guerrier, also on the Carnaval des animaux recording, who performs on this disc with the same ease and virtuosity both on trumpet and horn!
